Finally the time has come..A big matches between Samalantan and Serukam (BBC)..

This was the second matches..now in our homebase..It started a bit late around 8.30 pm due to the late of the guest coming and rain. And it was great that we could make it

Last matches won by Samalantan with 6 games won, 6 draw and 2 lost. Of course as a host we really win this game…

But..unfortunately..although the preparation is a better than before..we were defeated again. We can’t help to work with the new partner for the second double matches..They can defeat us easily

The thing I learn about this matches was

  1. This game and any other sport games can reflects our daily life. The burdens and troubles that we have every day..are just similar to the tense of the game that we played. The strategy to overcome the tense determines the result of the game. Our will, patience, and efforts to face the bumpy days are the same with the strategy…
  2. Determination during the game is one of the key factor to win the match. It is not easy to dominate and find the form to get it
  3. The moment you step in to the court is the starting point of the game. If you hesitate about what u have..u lost the war before it happens
  4. To be click with our partner is also important. How to communicate, trust and help each other when one is off fire so it can be a solid partner
  5. Last but not least luck..

Last matches result

BBC unfortunately lost again…3 won 3 draw and 5 lost

I, my self gave one winning point. My second matches was totally bad, couldn’t control the game at all. I walked in unsurely…and hesitated..so when we played there was not such a good control or direction where this game will be brought to..They defeated us easily…:(
Need practicing more with this partner..cause we never play together before and..can't communicate well when we are under pressure...Let me try again!!

Anyway..at the end of the game..it is around 11.59 pm..almost midnight...we gathered at the center of the court, put the palms together and officially established the club, lead by Bu Chenny Lengkong. It was great..

The next program is to have our own costume..and go to Bengkayang to have the next Exhibition..can't hardly wait...

Pfff

Finally..my turn to go Outraging was coming. I went to a remote area in West Borneo by Cessna?, a small plane which can accommodate 6 people with 400 kg of luggage. It is a nice moment to be waited for. To be in a very remote place which a bit isolated from civilization. To reach the nearest place which has a relatively complete transportation or supply store..they have to go walking like 20 hours. And they have to spend lots of money to go there. I couldn’t imagine how if I got sick and I need an urgent action. Sometime Im a bit angry if the patient came so late. But when u know the condition there..u have give a compliment to someone who has been struggling so hard to get what he wants.

After 15 minutes being 10000 feet above, I came to Kandik. This is a part of the village that consists of 5 main Kampong. Kandik 1 & 2, Upas, Pelaik and Kulum. Each Kampong separated with a path, which can be full of mud if it is raining. To reach the other Kampung, we have to walk for at about an hour. How bout the luggage? Thanks God there are people who…have a big heart to pass our luggages from 1 kampong to the nearest kampong, and they get 3 kind of medicines in return.

We help the vaccination, doing the Ante Natal care for pregnant women, examining the people and gave medicine that we brought. Limited action though, but.. it has a great impact for them.

To be there, it means that we have to live their way so we can be more connected to them and we understand what are they facing for. Sleeping in the wooden floor, eat with local rice that smells so good, eating vegetables like bamboo, Cangko leave( never had before), umbut ( kind of root), and meat. They usually eat pork. One is called bekasam, that is a pork that fermented with salt for a week to months. I don’t think I will have it again. It like putting the salt in ur mouth. I prefer putting sugar to my mouth. One that I didn’t have a chance to taste is Tempuyak, Bekasam mixed with durian and chilli. Still cant figure the taste out.

Best part so far…to bath, drink, give shit, cook, brushing, washing and anything using the water, we went to the nearest small river. Not so clear, bit yellow, but no other choice. I DID it..

And I’m still Okay now…it was a chit chat time with the local at the river..so funny…
